Underrepresentation

Equality before the law is a fundamental concept embedded in the rule of law, a principle that is the foundation of our legal system. However, it is hard to understand how one can be equal before the law if the legal profession itself is one of the least diverse professions in the country.

Reinforcement

PwC are reinforcing the importance of reducing inequalities by increasing diversity by becoming an affiliate firm of Aspiring Solicitors. They are using the pro bono unit of their legal arm to reinforce, support and encourage equality within the legal profession. Providing thirty volunteer professional ambassadors, they will provide mentoring and support to young people from underrepresented backgrounds looking to progress.

Social Mobility

The collaboration will allow PwC to improve social mobility and diversity within the industry. They will be using their expertise to empower young people from across the country by assisting them so they can obtain vacation scheme placements and training contracts.

This story shows how PwC supports Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities, specifically Target 10.2: “By 2030, empower and promote the social, economic and political inclusion of all, irrespective of age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion or economic or other status.”
